Planning revolves around KA-AZG rest periods, on-call duties and night, weekend and holiday shifts, plus the interplay between the room plan and the duty roster. Whether part-time, full-time, rotations or special protected groups: the rules are fully configurable and mirror how your department actually works.
We'd rather take this off your hands: we set Monkaru up for you, free of charge. We import your existing data and configure your shifts, teams, rooms and rules together with you. You're ready to go with no effort on your side. Prefer to do it yourself? You can: your first roster is ready right after signing up. Staff then join via an invite link.
No. You can first run Monkaru in shadow mode, in parallel with your current planning, and compare at your own pace, with no operational risk and no hard cut-over. Only once Monkaru has convinced you do you fully switch.
Monkaru checks every assignment in real time against the configured rules: daily rest, compensatory rest, weekly rest and weekly maximums. Non-compliant shifts are blocked before saving. Monkaru is decision support. The final legal responsibility stays with you, and Monkaru makes it verifiable and traceable.
Data privacy and security are our highest priority. In healthcare they are not optional, but a fundamental requirement. Your data is hosted exclusively in the EU (Frankfurt) and processed in full compliance with the GDPR at all times. Encryption (TLS 1.3 / AES-256), two-factor authentication and a complete activity log are a matter of course. Monkaru processes staff data only, never patient data. Your data remains your property and can be exported at any time.
Hardly. Staff see their own roster, submit preferences during the voting phase, and request leave, swaps or absences on any device, in real time. A built-in onboarding guide walks them through the essentials. The interface is deliberately designed to be clear without training.
No. The trial is free and ends automatically, with no credit card and no automatic renewal. The monthly licence can be cancelled at any time. You can still view your duty and room plans after the billing period ends and export them as PDF, XLSX or calendar file (ICS).
